While Sichuan is still haunted with the quake horror, torrential rains continued to lash a wide range of South China, and the losses caused by the disaster is serious. The “Red Cross Society of China Jet Li One Foundation Project” has allocated 500,000 RMB to ten flood-hit provinces to aid disaster relief efforts.

After the devastating flood took place, the management and staff of One Foundation have paid close attention to the latest news in cooperation with the Red Cross Societyof China regarding the flood while some of the staff were still busy in Chengdu with Sichuan reconstruction plans. On knowing that the the ministry raised the national disaster emergency response system to level-Ⅲ, the committee made a resolution: One Foundation will allocate 50,000 RMB to each of the flood-hit provinces, including Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Guangong, Gunagxi, Guizhou, Yunnan. This first sum of charity fund will be used to buy much-needed food and medicine for disease prevention, and One Foundation will qucikly work out the next aiding plan according to the latest flood circumstance.

In addition to the snow disaster and the Sichuan earthquake, One Foundation has once again contributed to aid disaster relief. The staff of One Foundation said, “ Disasters are unpredictable, but we are always ready to offer as much help as possible to the devastated areas and the suffered victims. And we hope to convey our love and care to the victims by giving a helping hand, so that they can be encouraged to help themselves. As for each one yuan collected by us, we will be responsible for each donor and hand the fund and love to the people in the devastated areas.

When allocating the charity fund to provide disaster relief, One Foundation made an appeal to people that disasters are unpredictable so we should get prepared even in calm days. Love is not just shown when disaster comes; it should be around us everyday and everywhere.
